Travel Rant Tuesday: You’re Dreaming!

DSC00116Jacob and I are living our dream. Our (current) dream is to live wherever we want, do whatever we want, and do it with a baby. It’s working out really quite amazingly. Ryder gives us more responsibility, yes, but more purpose too, making our travels have that extra added depth without removing too much spontaneity.

Despite the fact that we are already doing it, someone has recently informed us, after we said we planned to travel indefinitely, that “You’re dreaming! I’ve been alive for 80 years, and trust me, you are dreaming.”

As in, No way Jose, it’s not possible, you won’t be able to manage that.

Even though we’re already doing it.

Why do people feel the need to tell you that you can’t achieve your dreams?

Is it because their own dreams have been unfulfilled?

Is it because they just don’t have the vision?

Or is because they’ve never seen anyone do it so they just assume it isn’t possible?

One of the purposes of life seems to me to learn to believe in yourself and your own vision of achieving your own dreams. To learn to forget about the naysayers, and to stop being your own naysayer. To say, “Yes, I am dreaming…and living my dream. Hope one day you can too.”
